Recently, our Founder and CEO, Ornella Byak, was invited to attend a training program run by GALA (Gabinete de Apoio Licenciamento e Acreditação), the authority within the Ministry of Education that supports schools in areas of licensing, accreditation, and quality standards.
At Bakhita, we believe education is not only about what happens in the classroom but also about the systems and structures that sustain excellence. Being invited to participate in this training reflects our commitment to continual learning, strengthening our processes, and ensuring we remain aligned with the standards and expectations of the Ministry of Education.
The program was also an opportunity to deepen relationships with education leaders both locally and nationally. These connections are vital as we continue to grow—helping us share experiences, learn from others, and contribute to broader conversations about the future of education in Timor-Leste.
Our long-term vision is to create a model of education that is sustainable, accountable, and built to last. By engaging in programs like this, we are ensuring that Bakhita remains strong, compliant, and connected within Timor-Leste’s education system. This training marks another step forward in reinforcing the foundations of a school that will serve children and families for generations to come.
